It is the aim of Aalborg Portland that any resignation for both parties takes place in a dignfied manner - whether the employment is terminated by the employee or Aalborg Portland or it is due to retirement.
Employees who chose to terminate their employment are invited to an resignment meeting with HR. We regard the opinions of the employees as important input for the development of Aalborg Portland as a place of work. The resignment meeting is optional, and naturally all information will be treated in confidence.
A dismissal can be motivated by individual circumstances. A dismissal may not come as a suprise - and will not take place before active attempts regarding personal and professional development within Aalborg Portland has proven in vain.
Dismissal can be substantiated in business conditions such as structural or market changes. We aim to plan and implement the process with much care and understanding regarding the employees involved as well as the business goals of the company.
However, if an employee grossly disregards or abuses the internal guidelines regarding employment at Aalborg Portland termination can take place without notice.
If Aalborg Portland needs to dismiss an employee it is the responsibility of the closest manager - in co-operation with his or her superior - to make the final decision. No termination will take place without the advice of HR regarding a dignified process. Furthermore, HR will make sure that laws and agreements are respected and possibilities regarding relocation are considered.
