Competence development
To Aalborg Portland competence development is more than courses and formal education. Gathering of knowledge and experience are valuable development activities which take place during the daily work, by internal job changes, by participation in projects and through active participation in activities in and outside the company.
The activities we carry out within competence development are to ensure that the company reaches its commercial goals. They have to be carried out in a targeted and continuous process at all levels in the company - organisationally and individually.
Any initiative to develop competencies thus builds on commercial requirements and is coordinated in relation to such.
The responsibility lies with management as well as with the individual employee. It is a joint responsibility that the necessary professional and individual development takes place so that the competencies of the individual employee are developed and kept up to date in relation to the requirements of the company. This also ensures that the "market values" of the employees in and outside of the Aalborg Portland Group are kept.
Competence development is based on an individual profile of relevant personal and professional competencies. This profile subsequently makes the basis for selecting the relevant development needs.
Aalborg Portland creates a good framework for the competence development to be carried out through courses, seminars, job training, work shops (internal and external), etc. Subsequently, it is very important that the new knowledge and training are used in practice and remain natural elements of the daily work of the employee.
