New cement plant in China
Investment in a new cement plant in China was initiated in 2008. The new kiln, which has an annual capacity of 600,000 tonnes of cement, entered service in November 2009, and the cement mill and packing plant came into operation in January 2010.
The new plant is designed to meet all European environmental standards, and the kiln has 30% lower heat consumption than the previous units. The clinker produced in the new kiln has higher strength, so that less clinker is used in cement production, which ultimately reduces CO2 emission. The plant is the first "modern" white cement plant in China, and by setting the pace will encourage the rest of the competition to follow suit, thereby benefiting the environment.
2009
Aalborg Portland Group invested in new cement line in Egypt.
A major investment in a new production line at the plant in Sinai, Egypt was completed. The plant is at the beginning of 2009 the world's largest plant for production of white cement.
2008
On 1 March 2008 Unicon A/S acquired the company Kudsk & Dahl A/S in Vojens.
Kudsk & Dahl A/S is a well established family owned company with a leading position within aggregates and the leading supplier of ready-mixed concrete in the area of Southern Jutland.
Furthermore, Kudsk & Dahl A/S runs a big and all-round haulage contractor with both internal and external operations, such as, among others, supplies to a lot of ready-mixed concrete plants in the region, and to the region’s largest asphalt plant. The company is also the supplier to the region’s large and small contractors. Finally, the company haulages concrete elements and other products.
Kudsk & Dahl A/S has 100 employees and earnings before tax in 2007 of DKK 8m.
2007
A new joint venture, Aalborg White BMT Co. Ltd., of which Aalborg Portland White A/S owns 70%, has been established.
As per 29 September, Aalborg Portland White A/S has entered into an agreement to form a 70:30 owned joint venture together with the owner of BMT, Fico Investment & Building Materials Trading Joint Stock Company, and to acquire the assets of the BMT grinding plant.
The plant is the only white cement grinding plant in Southern Vietnam with a capacity of more than 100,000 MT annually.
2006
1st of January 2006 Aalborg Portland Group and Unicon Group were merged into one organisation consisting of a corporate holding and three business areas:

In 2006 Aalborg White Italia S.R.L. was established in Ravenna, Italy. The Company's activity is grinding, sale,and distribution of white cement.
In Tampa, USA, a new terminal for 45.000 tonnes white cement was put into operation by Gaetano Cacciatore, Inc.
In November 2006, contracts for a second production line in Sinai White Portland Cement were signed. The new line is expected to commence production at the end of 2008, which will bring the total capacity of the plant up to approx. 1 million tonnes of white cement.
2005
Unicon acquired the cement factory plant ”4K” from the Mexican cement and concrete group Cemex, taking over all of 4K’s activities in Denmark. Unicon now owns 46 plants in Denmark, having a total production capacity of 1.5 mil. m3 cement.
Unicon’s activities in Poland are at the same time sold to Cemex.
2005
Aalborg White OOO(Ltd.) was established. The company based in St. Petersburg will be supplying white cement to the Russian market.

The Anqing factory was started up. Sales to the Chinese market commenced.
2004
The Italian Caltagirone Group aquired, via its ownership of the cement group Cementir S.p.A., the shares of Aalborg Portland A/S and Unicon A/S from FLS Industries A/S. Unicon became a subsidiary of the Aalborg Portland Group.
Mario Ciliberto is chairman of the board for Aalborg Portland A/S and Unicon A/S.
Francesco Caltagirone jr. is vice chairman of the board for Aalborg Portland A/S and Unicon A/S.
2004
Aalborg White Anqing Co. Ltd. was established. The company, which has a yearly production capacity of 80,000 tons of white cement at the plant in Anqing, situated 600 km. west of Shanghai by the Yangtze river, is Aalborg Portland Group's subsidiary in China, responsible for the white cement activities.
